Every successful operation begins with a clearly defined objective.
How military leaders make high-quality decisions with incomplete information.
Turning plans into disciplined and effective action.
Leading teams when failure is not an option.
At Puranya Consultancy, we believe that the ultimate test of leadership transcends the environment in which it is practised. By analysing the monumental post-independence wars, battles fought and operations conducted by the Indian Armed Forces, we extract battle-tested principles — clarity of purpose, disciplined execution, and resilience — and translate them into practical solutions for today's corporate boardroom.
The history of India's military operations is a masterclass in making critical decisions not just under extreme pressure, but under uncertain conditions, without a clear picture, and amidst severe resource strains. During the 1947–1948 war, the audacious deployment of Stuart tanks to capture the high-altitude Zojila Pass demonstrated how adaptability and sound judgment can overcome seemingly impossible environmental barriers. Similarly, the 1965 Battle of Assal Uttar stands as a testament to resilience and tactical ingenuity; Indian forces held their ground against a superior armoured division, creating the infamous "graveyard of Pakistani armour."
Strategic alignment is another crucial pillar. The comprehensive strategy executed during the 1971 war, marked by the decisive victory at Longewala and the intense armour battles at Basantar, highlights the power of synchronised teamwork and operational clarity. Finally, the 1999 Kargil War — particularly the gruelling, high-altitude ascents to recapture Tololing and Tiger Hill — proves that the best decisions are not made in comfort.
Through a unique synthesis of seasoned military practitioners, academicians, and corporate leaders, Puranya Consultancy bridges these two worlds. We transform the historical rigour of India's defining battles into actionable, repeatable frameworks, equipping your organisation with the strategic clarity required to perform when it matters most.
The foundation of Puranya Consultancy rests on decades of rigorous study into the major campaigns, operations, and battles fought by the Indian Armed Forces. We are a unique synthesis of minds, built on the belief that the ultimate test of leadership transcends the environment in which it is practised.

Military leaders know what it takes to navigate ambiguity and pressure because they have lived it. They have come together with a single mission: to equip your organisation with the discipline, courage, and strategic clarity required to perform when it matters most.
To shape a new generation of leaders by bringing the timeless principles, battle-tested operational frameworks, and strategic adaptability of military leadership into business, public institutions, and organisations across India and beyond.

We examine major operations conducted by the Indian Armed Forces to understand why some decisions succeeded while others failed.
We study leaders, not simply battles.
Their judgment, character, communication, and ability to influence people often determined the outcome more than numbers or equipment.
Every campaign follows a decision process.
From these operations we develop practical frameworks on strategy, execution, resilience, first-mover advantage, crisis leadership, and organisational learning.
